Team management

Working as a team

A team opens your account to collaborators. Each one keeps their own LizPack account and credentials; in yours, they only do what you have allowed, on the instances and databases you have opened to them. They work with your plan and your quotas: they need no subscription.

Team management requires a Pro plan or higher. On another plan, My team offers Discover the Pro plan.

The page lists your members. At the top, a counter gives the number of members and the maximum your plan allows, or Unlimited. Each member carries two badges: their state, Pending, Active or Declined, and their role, Viewer, Publisher, Administrator or Custom.

Your team: each member with their status and role, the member counter and the invitation.

A pending invitation counts as a member. Once the limit is reached, the Invite button disappears: remove a member, or change plan from Subscriptions.

Inviting a member

  1. Open My team and click Invite.
  2. In Email, type the collaborator's address.
  3. Choose a Role preset: Viewer, Publisher or Administrator. The Permissions switches follow; if you change one, the role becomes Custom.
  4. Under Allowed instances, tick the instances they will be able to see. If you have additional databases, Allowed databases does the same for them.
  5. Click Send the invitation.

You must tick at least one instance or one database. The collaborator receives an email with the Accepter l'invitation button, valid for seven days, and appears as Pending in your list until they answer. They do not need an account yet: they will create one when accepting, with the invited address.

A list left with no box ticked grants access to everything: an invitation with one database ticked and no instance opens all your instances to the member. Check both lists before sending, or restrict access afterwards (see Access to instances).

If the invitation is declined, the member changes to Declined and Invite again sends them a new one. A removed member disappears from the list: to bring them back, invite their address again.

Roles and permissions

A member's rights come down to eleven switches. The three presets are ready-made combinations of them.

View the databases also gives the database credentials of each instance opened to the member, in the customer area as in the QGIS plugin. Manage the files opens the instances' folders, and publishing from the plugin.

To change a member's rights, click their chevron (Manage permissions on hover). Apply a preset: restores one of the three roles, and each switch is saved as soon as you flip it. A combination that matches no preset is shown as Custom.

The bin, Remove, removes the member after Are you sure?. They lose access at once and are told by email. The owner and the members who have Manage the team manage the team; nobody changes their own rights, and your own line carries the You badge, with no button.

Access to instances and databases

In a member's panel, below their permissions, Access to the instances chooses between All the instances and Specific instances. In specific mode, each instance is ticked or unticked, and the change is saved straight away.

Access to the databases works the same way for your additional databases, with All the databases and Specific databases. Each panel only appears if the member has the matching permission, View the instances or View the databases.

A restricted member only sees their instances: in the lists, on the dashboard, in the statistics and in the QGIS plugin. The address of an instance not opened to them answers as if the instance did not exist. Specific instances with no box ticked gives access to no instance.

All the instances also covers the ones you will deploy later. For a contractor or a customer, prefer Specific instances.

Switching between accounts

As soon as you are a member of a team, a selector appears at the top of the screen, to the left of the language choice. It shows My account, or the name of the owner whose account you are viewing.

  1. Click the selector: the Switch account list opens.
  2. Choose My account for your own instances, or an owner's name. Your role is shown under each name.

In someone else's account, a banner reads Vous consultez le compte de followed by that owner, with your role; its My account button takes you back to your own. The screens reload with the chosen account's data, and the menu only shows those your rights allow.

The choice applies to the browser tab: it survives a page refresh, and is forgotten when you close the tab. In the QGIS plugin, the same choice is made with the Espace list (see Signing in).

Accepting an invitation

The invitation arrives by email. It is tied to the invited address and is valid for seven days.

  1. Click Accepter l'invitation in the email. The Team invitation page shows who is inviting you, and with which role.
  2. If you are not signed in, choose Sign in, or Create an account if you do not have one yet, with the invited address. If the invitation page does not come back after creating the account, open the link in the email again.
  3. Click Accept. You land on your instances, and the account selector appears at the top of the screen.

Once signed in, you also find the invitation at the top of the dashboard and of the Instances page, with Accept and Decline. A refusal is reported to the owner.

If you are signed in with an account other than the invited one, the page shows Wrong account: Sign out and change account takes you back to sign-in, where you enter the address the invitation was sent to. An expired invitation can no longer be accepted: ask the owner to send it again.
