Account settings

Your profile

The Settings page brings together four cards: My profile, My team, Security & privacy and Notifications. The team has its own chapter: Team management.

The Settings page: one card per account setting.

My profile shows your name, your email address and how you sign in: Signed in with an email address or Signed in with Google. To change your details, click Edit the profile, edit the fields, then click Save the changes.

My profile: your name, your address, your country and the language of the customer area.
FieldWhat to know
First name(s), NameRequired. This is the name your team members and the people you invite see.
EmailYour sign-in identifier, on the site as in the QGIS plugin. The change applies as soon as you save, with no confirmation email: you then sign in with the new address. An account opened with Google keeps its Google address.
Phone, CountryOptional.
LanguageThe language of the customer area: French, English, Spanish or Portuguese. It applies as soon as you save and follows your account from one device to another. It is also the language of the emails you receive and of your invoices.

The same page offers Change the password, described in Account security.

Deleting your account

At the bottom of the page, the Danger zone offers Delete the account. The window asks you to type the sentence I understand the consequences and your current password, then Delete permanently. If the button is greyed out, deletion is closed for the time being: write to support.

Deletion cannot be undone: your data, your instances and their configuration are erased. First retrieve whatever you want to keep.

Account security

Security & privacy brings together your password and two-factor authentication.

The Security page: change the password, turn two-factor authentication on or off.

Changing your password

  1. Click Change the password.
  2. Enter your Current password, then the New password and its confirmation. It must be at least 8 characters long; the Password requirements list also ticks off the upper-case letter, the lower-case letter and the digit.
  3. Click Change the password.

Three seconds later, your session closes: sign in again with the new password, and remember to change it in the QGIS plugin if you had saved it there. An account opened with Google, without a password, sees Create a password instead, which sends a link to choose one.

Two-factor authentication

Once it is on, every sign-in asks, after the password, for a six-digit code sent to your email address. A code is valid for ten minutes and five attempts.

  1. Click Enable two-factor authentication. A code is sent to your email address.
  2. Type it in Verification code. It is checked as soon as you enter the sixth digit; otherwise, click Confirm.
  3. The status changes to Enabled.

To turn it off, Deactivate asks for your current password, then Confirm disabling.

The QGIS plugin cannot ask for this code: as long as two-factor authentication is on, it refuses to connect with Identifiants incorrects.

Monitoring account activity

My activity, in your avatar menu at the top right, opens the Activity log: every action taken on the account, with its date, IP address and result. The Success and Errors filters and the search help you spot an action you do not recognise; if so, change your password.

Email notifications

Notifications sets which emails we send you. Each switch is saved as soon as you flip it; Preference updated confirms it. The address receiving these emails is shown under the title: it is the one in your profile.

SwitchThe emails it covers
Instance eventsInstance ready, deployment failed, instance started, stopped, restarted or deleted. The team member who started the action receives them too, according to their own setting.
Database eventsEmails about your database keys: key assigned, activated or withdrawn.
Subscription alertsReminders before expiry, invoices, suspension of instances when the subscription ends.
Security alertsNo email depends on this switch at present.

Some emails are sent whatever your settings: two-factor authentication codes, password resets, team invitations and quota overrun alerts.

Turning off Subscription alerts also stops invoices and expiry reminders: a due date may then pass without you being warned.
